Once you have the idea it is important to develop it further and test whether it will work in practice. Most Funders will need convincing that the idea is sound. You will need to produce a project plan to show that you have thought through and identified all the positive and negative issues that are likely to arise. You also have to cost the project and show how you have arrived at this.

Ask yourself the following questions:

What is your basic idea in a sentence?
What do you hope to achieve?
How did you came up with the idea and who did you consult and involve?
Who will benefit from the project?
How will you put the idea into practice?
Who will you carry out the work?
What funding will you need?
How will the project be managed?
Who will you be accountable to and how will you report to them?
How will you sustain the idea in the long term?
